Gintarė – musician, singer, songwriter, producer, programmer. Her music is best described by great British producer the late Gus Dudgeon, who extensively worked with her in 1994-95, “it has all the quality of a diamond – it is timeless while being undeniably contemporary, polished by the surreal dream like beauty of her vocal performances, enhanced by in depth intelligence of her luminous poetry.” She composes and performs her own music which renders itself to refined high end contemporary - alternative pop with the elements of elaborate rhythm and ambiance, spellbinding live piano performances as well as edgy computer programming. ”Endless vocal abilities” – said French composer, pianist Didier Marouani, who Gintarė performed with in 1992.

Academically trained in classical piano and jazz since the age six, she also excelled in art of composition and vocal performance. Her song “Skylark” was performed by choir and herself at the age 8 on the national radio of Lithuania. By the age 13 she had in her concert repertoire one of the most challenging piano pieces in music literature, F. Mendelssohn`s Piano Concerto no. 1 in G minor, which she performed for her graduation at the end of 7 years of education at children's music academy. She entered conservatory where she studied piano and composition among a multitude of other disciplines. Her expertise being F. Liszt, S. Rachmaninoff, F. Mendelssohn, F. Chopin, J. Bach, O. Messiaen, Arvo Pärt, Oscar Peterson and Keith Jarrett. Five years later she performed her own music for entry exams to a high music academy where she studied classical and jazz piano for couple more years until her emigration to the United States. She became an American citizen in 1984.

Gintarė was born into nobility (granted to her fraternal ancestors in the 17 century by the Count Tyzenhaus family) and has American heritage on her mother's side (Gintarė's grandfather was an American citizen). She was born in Soviet occupied Lithuania. Her parents and her only sister are classical musicians, conductors, academicians as well as performers. She grew up with several pianos all over the house, constantly surrounded by music performed by several generations of her family. Early experience with choral and symphonic music are well reflected in her work.

Her mother is the founder and director of a children's music school and is touring all over Europe and USA. Her father's compositions are often performed by several choirs. Her sister Salvinija, living in England, is a principle conductor of the multiple award winning chamber choir “Pastorale” which actively tours in Europe and beyond.

During Gintarė's teen years, parallel to her academic music and high school education, she developed a shining career in the pop music world. She became the first teen superstar in her own country and way beyond. At the age 14 she wrote her first hit songs “Wooden Horses”, “In the Heart of Clover” and others. Her song “Lily of the Lord" became has become like an anthem and was performed just last year by an international choir of 20,000 singers at the song festival in Vilnius in commemoration of 1000 years jubilee of Lithuania. Besides her own solo artist career she starred in rock opera projects, wrote and performed music for theater, television and the film industry. She toured extensively, and performed in festivals.

In the beginning of 90's, while residing in Oxford (U.K.), she drew attention of famous producer Gus Dudgeon (who produced Elton John for many years, David Bowie and the Beach Boys) and began collaboration producing her songs “Butterflies”, “Trancenavigation”, “Hysteria” and others for her first album. She recorded and co-produced her own music with many distinctive artists and producers such as Gaeton Schurrer (Madonna), Adam Wakeman (Annie Lennox, Travis), Andrew Claxton (Dead Can Dance), Neil MacLallan (Prodigy) and many others.

In 1997 she signed a record deal with EMI Records in England and a publishing contract with SONY. In March 2000 her album “Earthless” was launched and had several successful hits. Songs reached number 13 and 24 on music charts in England, and “Guilty” which reached number 10 on the Club charts. The song “Hysteria” was featured in Hollywood box office hit “xXx” staring Vin Diesel (the movie credits list the song “Hysteria” but in reality the song is “Earthless”). The CD and singles packaging has been recognized for being innovative and is featured in the book “CD Art – Innovation in CD Packaging Design” by Charlotte Rivers.

In 1992 she performed in the presence of his Holiness Pope John Paul II during his tour.

She returned back to U.S.A. and in 2001, and released her second album “Feathermark” on her own record label SkySonic Records with producer Michael McInnis. It was well received by her fans around the world as well as new listeners. It was played and sold world wide.

The new CD (her first in Lithuanian language), ”Kol Prašvis” was released in 2009 for commemoration of celebration of 1000 years of Lithuania, with an extensive concert tour. This time she collaborated with celebrated American recording engineer Lincoln Clapp (Whitney Houston, Barbara Streisand, Aretha Franklin, Bee Gees and many more).

Currently she is working on her new album, recordings with Lincoln Clapp have already begun and it is expected to be released later in the summer of 2010.

In 2009 she has published her first book of poetry and visual art which features her oil paintings and prints. Sculpture is another of her passions. Gintarė speaks 4 languages, adores historic and scientific literature, theater and architecture. She is passionately versed in the science of holistic medicine and currently enrolled in the Institute of Integrated Nutrition in NY, and is looking forward to graduating this July with a degree in holistic nutrition.

She is a mother of three, Jason, Marty and Elizabeth, and residing in beautiful Maine, USA with her husband and manager Keith.
